Immediate Steps at the Scene

1

Ensure Scene Safety

Park your vehicle safely. Turn on hazard lights. Check for ongoing dangers like fire or traffic.

2

Call Emergency Services

Dial 112 (national emergency) or 108 (ambulance). Provide exact location and number of injured.

3

Check for Consciousness

Gently tap the victim and ask if they are okay. Do not shake or move them unless necessary.

4

Stop Bleeding

Apply direct pressure with a clean cloth on any visible wounds to stop bleeding.

5

Keep Victim Warm

Cover the injured person with a blanket or clothing to prevent shock.

6

Do NOT Remove Helmet

Never remove a motorcyclist's helmet unless they are not breathing. Let paramedics handle it.

What NOT To Do

Do NOT move the victim unless there is immediate danger
Do NOT give food or water to an unconscious person
Do NOT remove objects lodged in wounds
Do NOT try to straighten broken bones
Do NOT leave the victim alone
Do NOT crowd around the victim

Good Samaritan Law

India's Good Samaritan Law protects anyone who helps a road accident victim. You cannot be held legally liable for helping. Hospitals must provide initial treatment without demanding payment. Be a Good Samaritan - your help can save a life.
